Any update on the LA3 strategy?

Unread postby JamesDee » Sat Apr 01, 2017 9:07 am

Can anyone confirm if the T23B.xdf strategy for the LA3 on the Tunerpro site is valid?

I'm looking for an unmodified strategy and bin file so I can use quarterhorse to datalog my factory sensors. I don't want to do any tuning right now.

I'm using the t23b.xdf file with a la3.bin tune with tunerpro v5, and I'm having trouble getting my car to start. If it's a software setting or driver issue, I'll work it out. I just want to make sure the definition and calibration files I'm using work together.

I hope someone sees this "message in a bottle" since the last post here was 2015....Lol.

Thanks.

Ok, I might be confused. There is the stock tune (LA3.bin) and then there is the definition or strategy, ie, T23b.xdf or LA3.xls. Don't I need both the tune and the strategy together?

I know quarterhorse can read stock tunes, but when i write to the quarterhorse using Tunerpro, dont I have to load both the tune and the strategy file? Isn't the strategy "gone" once the quarterhorse is on the J3 port?

no

you can write the stock tune to it and be done

the definition is only to tune it

you have to have a def file open when writing so tunerpro knows wherevat on the qh to put the tune but thats all

no the strategy isnt gone, the stock tune is disabled and the qh serves the tune, if its the stock tune then it will be the stock strategy

Ok, but the def file "to have open" is the file from the "download bin definition files" page on the Turnerpro site, right? My SVO has the LA3 computer so Ive download the Ford T23B bin definition file and saved it as T23B.dxf. So when I open tunerpro, this is the definition file I "select". Unless I can also use Quarterhorse to import the definition off my computer into Tunerpro...

Sounds like should do some reading....

Thanks.

u lost me

are you trying to save the bin as an xdf?

a bin file is a tune file, the same u can read off the ecu

and XDF file is a definition file, someone has to manually type in each parameter it takes several hundred hours

if your bin file is 56k you can open the gufx xdf and write the stock tune to the QH

On the DIS? With an LA3? There hasn't been any progress as far as turbo computers sadly. I moved on to megasquirt.
