Rev limiter scalars having no effect

Unread post by SOAB_465 »

1998 mustang GT. 2valve 4.6 with original wiring harness and ECU. I have set NLMTLO_1, ~NLMTHI_0 and ~NLMTNEUHI_0 all to 6600 to 7000, but the engine hits a fuel cut at 6050RPM. does it both in gear and in neutral.

Is there another rev limiter or has anyone else come across this situation?

Thanks,

Paul

MNPIP8 to ZERO done yet?

11,250,000 / (1/2 # of cylinders × max rpm)

Or

11,250,000 / (4×7000)

CRAI8 xdf doesn't have MNPIP8 as far as I can tell, I wonder if it's hidden or mislabeled

I see now how the soft limiter works, is it safer to use the NLMT scalars on a boosted application? Does FNRPM pull fuel or timing?

either is safe no issues there

why are you intending on hitting the limiter?

the objective is to shift before you bang the limiter

Ha ha I know that's the goal, but when it doesn't hook up in 1st things happen too quickly for me. I'm still getting used to driving it with the twin screw, and don't want to make an expensive mistake before i get good at it.
