'95 GT stock 302 Vortech V1 FLOODING no start

Unread post by dakotagatlin »

Im really kicking myself in the nads right now....... setup as follows

Stock 302 (larger main and rod bearings)
E7 Heads
Vortech V1 (no belt on it as im trying to get it to start for the first time)
80lb Deka Injectors
aeromotive1000 set to 40psi
ford slot maf in a 90mm housing placed pre blower
explorer intake

Im killing batteries and jump boxes left and right. first try to start no fire at ALL not even a hit. started to smell fuel so i quit trying and went to work. came home, unplugged fuel pump fuse and tried to turn it over again. HORRAY it hit a couple of random times, but no start and die. so i tweaked a couple of things(cranking PW) and even checked to see if the maf data was corrupt(it doesnt appear that way) im asking if there is anywhere i can look to maybe get this thing to at least fire and idle so i can go back about dialing in the tune for idle and etcetera.. before i send it to the dyno ill post the .bin if it helps when i get home.

did you reduce the cranking fuel pw? The whole table (y axis) multiplied by .23 or so? did you try clear flood mode? You'll need to post the tune.

Is your fuel pump priming and not stopping with just the key in the ON position by chance?

If you're using a decent base tune with your injector slopes entered correctly, and cranking pw scaled for your injectors, it's more likely an installation problem from the new motor. Have you checked base timing and verified plug wires are in the right order? Are you getting rpm signal when cranking? Is your fuel pressure regulator getting vacuum to the right port?

It should start and die at least unless you have mechanical problems

Fuel pump is priming to 40 psi for 3~ seconds and then turns off.
Plug wires are in the correct order.
Tach and datalog register 180-250rpm when starting.
Vacuum for the regulator is going directly to the intake manifold.

I'm thinking my cranking pw needs to be rescalled for the injectors as I do not think the tuner pro patch for 80lb injectors changes that parameter.
When I get back into town we'll try starting it
If that makes no change then we will loosen the distributor and see if it will hit off by rotating it lightly one way or the other. But it was set dead on 10btdc before putting the blower on. Timing wasn't altered.

I'll post it when I get back into town to the laptop

I didn't scale the table as you're stating. That could highly likely be my entire problem. I'm unsure whether clear flood mode is even working.

You have to cut the cranking fuel because the ecu "thinks" you have 19 lbs injectors. you're getting over 4 times the needed fuel if you have 80 lbs injectors on there.

Here's the tune file
i updated the FN348A by multiplying it 0.23. ill try and see if it made any difference in a few.
But if there are any other mistakes in the tune let me know please. i thought i had it well rounded, but obviouslyi did now.

which base tune did you start with? I want to have you use the difference tool and the compare bins tool. (on tunerprort header. ) Have you tried those? It's a good way to see what you've worked on so far.

T4M2 was the base tune.
i edited for Long tubes under the HEGO Delay, decipha said make them all 20 in a previous post of mine.
i added the maf transfer from here under universal 90mm slot maf.
patched for 80lb injectors
pulled -12 timing from all the top columns in the borderling timing table for boost
"recently" edited for crank PW which is a very very low number, but she now starts.

Yes ive used compare data before when i was looking at my base tune vs the t4m2 to see what was changed to make the tune more tuneable. i actually have been keeping notes of what i change.
