A9L/A9P Rebuild Service?

Decipha's custom GUFX strategy covers all 89-93 foxbody ecu's including the 88 mass-air california ecus.

A9L/A9P Rebuild Service?

Unread post by Chickenbone »

Does anybody out there repair/rebuild these ECMs? I tried Foxresto.com, but they are not responding to phone calls and e-mails. I have an A9P with at least 1 visibly bad capacitor. This has been delaying my 1st start attempts for a while now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you could try an electronics/ computer shop. I think there are only 2 or 3 caps that are known to go bad. You could just have them solder in some new ones.

I replace caps but i don't have a way of testing your computer since i don't have a fox body any more. It would be no different than if you took it to an electronics shop since they won't have a way of testing it either.

Cool. Thanks for the advice :)

I got through to Foxresto.com and they told me to take my Quarterhorse out and ship the A9P to them. So I will be doing that tonight. Hopefully the damage is repairable.

I set up a bench test, connected power & grounds, ignition, fuel pump to a relay, then connected the self-test wires and a light to the MIL.
Basically made something like this:
