Car cranks and cranks when hot. It will eventually start and smells like raw fuel out the exhaust. Car will hot start if I floor the gas pedal. Fuel pressure leak down is normal.

Well I'm not getting anywhere. I keep reducing the multiplier and she still won't fire unless I put the pedal to the floor. She fires right up when stone cold.

go to the cranking pw multiplier table and shut off the injectors for the first few pips at hot start

So probably change only the 175* and 200* rows at 0 5 6 15 PIPs?
Change to a value of 0.

ignore that link

the table is thr multiplier, just simply set it to 0 for thr first few pips when hot to shut off the injectors

keep in mind thats not normal and usually indicates a mechanical fuel injector problem or poor fuel dial in causing it to dump fuel on shut down

I tried this and the problem still persist. I had the injectors cleaned and flowed before installing them. Wouldn't injector issues show up while driving or in the logs?

anything that shows up while driving will show up in the log

do you have your fuel dialed in ?

are you sure your problem is crank and not enrichment? cranking pw is directly responsible for how long you have the leave the key in the crank position before it fires off, enrichment is from there after

Fuel is dialed in. Engine cranks 10-15 seconds before firing. It runs perfect after it fires.

Michael,
I tried adding and subtracting to cranking pulsewidth vs. ECT.
I zero'd out a few pips in cranking table.
I added and removed fuel to open loop startup table.
Nothing makes a difference except opening the TB during startup.
Any ideas?

kick up the crank iscdc function, it may be too low at your hot start

did you verify your iscdc is below 35% at a warm stable idle and ipsibr is at 0 along with isckam correction?

well thats not it

is it starting up then dying or is it the actual crank thats the problem ?

When hot; I try to start and she cranks quite a bit before starting. I don't touch the gas. She cranks over fine.
If I put the gas to the floor when starting; she starts right up.

Success!!!! FN1350 was the key. Here's where I ended up. She started hot twice tonight. ECT was 170* both times. Fingers crossed that tomorrow brings the same success.

Well that was short lived. I don't know what changed or maybe I did something different, but the car still cranks and cranks when hot.

did u try holding the throttle to the floor when hot to see if it starts? if so its flooding out?

Yes. It starts every time that way. Sometimes it seems a bit loaded up, but nothing major. It will start right up and idle fine.

Ok; well this car keeps making a liar of me. It seems that my tune has progressed and now the car does a long crank before starting even when holding the pedal to the floor.
This is one hour after warming the car up.
When the car started; grey smoke came out of the exhaust in a small cloud.

I've been thinking the same. Last time I threw a fuel pressure gauge on it; the pressure took 45 mins to bleed off. Sound normal?
