Spark Lower in Log than Table

Unread postby Frank N. Stang » Fri Aug 24, 2018 10:16 am

Hello,
I'm trying to locate a subtractor or a cause. The spark coming back in the log is consistently 2-3 points lower than what I enter in the BDL table. If I put 20 at peak boost load the log will report back 17-18. If I put 18 at peak boost load it will report back 15-16. Using T4M2 and have only changed the required parameters ie I haven't gone in flipping a bunch of switches at random. Just trying to locate the cause. Attached the BIN file. Have the log file as well but as a CSV.

Also, if anyone can take a look at tune and see if there are any obvious issues other than issue above I would definitely appreciate it.

Thanks

Ok. Thanks

On that tune w peak loads and boost and regular driving and cruising:

At peak load and boost ACT=142 & ECT=198

Peak ACT 154 on entire log

Peak ECT 208 on entire log - Usually stays in the mid 190s

well thats why your acts are too hot

go adjust your act spark retard modifier function so it pulls timing at a higher temp say 150 or so

If you get a chance could you check out BIN for overall health I would really appreciate it. Any things that jump out. Have 20 spark set for peak boost load which gives me 17-18 in log as mentioned above. Site says 24 for GT40s but I had table set for that and it was getting 21-22 in log. It didn't seem to like it. Would resist, hang up, at 4.5k-4.75k which is peak torque in boost. I know every engine is different but just wanted to verify it's not a tune issue at 24 boost spark. NA peak load is 80 at 4k.

Thanks
