Using New XDF

Unread postby 93svt » Thu Jul 09, 2020 12:02 am

I am trying to convert to the new XDF but my numbers are very weird. Not sure if I am doing it correctly. I may have scaled my tune wrong but the car runs very well.
I have an HPX-E but when I try to convert things look off. Attached is the tune that is in the car now

Thanks for any help

ok, I may have converted it correctly my injector data came out close to published info and the MAF is about 2.1% higher but the cid was showing 312.

is this because I originally scaled wrong?
I set back to 302
A little worried about changing but the latest looks very nice being that you can view actual values.
The last time I thought I scaled wrong I redid new tune and it would not even get in to enough load to go rich for the boost

here is the new converted tune

In order for me to do anything I'd basically have to tune it no other option than a premium member.

Gotcha. Did you happen to look at the 2 tunes and see if it was converted properly?
I think I did

The main reason I wanted you to take a look is that a few values came back weird after converting to new XDF
like a the CID was 312
the MAF was 4080, not 3999
just making sure am on the right track with current XDF

Also, I do not mind paying for something I need to so if you look at the tune and recommend you redoing i will

that means you changed either the injector high slope or the k-constant after making those changes. K-constant and high slope have to be changed first as specified in the comments.

I have followed this

If you have a functioning tune and want to update it so un-scaled values are shown then change the SP** AHISL scalar to your actual injector high slope value for your injectors (unscaled value).

change the High slope to 46.818
then I get CID 312
MAF tops at 4087
Then I copy all that change K Constant to 30 values change but then I renter what was in there before changing K Constant

Wrong?

Did I just scale wrong In the first place? i am guessing i need to put values like 302 for CID and the worksheet for an HPX-E with a 85MM housing tops at 3999
and dial back in?

yeah you scaled wrong in the first place

no big dea. Just set the k-constant to 30 and plug in the actual high slope and all the rest of the injector data, sarchg, and maf and you can proceed.

Gotcha
Looks like everything came out to maybe 2-4% off so should be a big deal getting it lined back up.

Thanks for the help!

Edit: forgot to ask looks like the new xdf doesn't have the MAF histogram I have been using. What is the one I should be using now

If it's the Hist_Maf_Err (hego Only) it just looked different and I was checking. So now do the extra rows show the error calculated after X time at that AD Count?

OK
Loaded in new XDF tune cranked up fine had to adjust MAF a tad to get fuel error at 1.00 I have not driven just free rev to adjust but the question is

I had to fiddle with idle screw a tad trying to dial in ipsibr but seems kinda finicky now. still, trying to target 0.000 right?
it seems to idle lower now and that is fine but is a negative number bad I see is duty go yellow? I raise a little and the ispibr goes red but just seems harder to achieve 0

Seems to be ok with new xdf but so I am not going in circles negative means I need to increase idle screw?

no negative means the isc is closing to reach idle

at hot stable idle that means the throttle stop needs to be closed

during warm up that means the isc multiplier needs to come down

Yeh, I think I had a brain fart I meant to say decrease idle.

I will say i need to dial fuel back in but seems very close and I am not sure what has change from the XDF I was using but dang it runs good.

I can cruise in the neighborhood at like 1200 rpm no surge

Also is this correct looks weird to me

Edit : it's a pic of the table and it has some values I dont understand like 4000 and 7000 as row 3 same as when I open original A9l2 but may be wrong just checking

I figured I would make it easier and not have to download pic

ATRM3 Row
8 65535 = 5
7 255 = 5
6 35 = 3
5 5 = 0
4 0 = 0
3 65535 = 3
2 7000 = 3
1 4000 = 0

And the top of the table (Z_XFN1861 EXT) does not show temp its blank? I know its a Patch just making sure it's not corrupt or anything

Sorry I may be confused. So I use the one in the unsued folder? It says that they are disabled if patched and A9l2 is patched

I am in the tuning folder so what are the correct ones to adjust

I see if you adjust one it changes the other one FN1861

I have compared it to the latest download and all patches match. seems to do fine right now may need a tad more start idle air seems lower than the previous XDF I was using.

One more thing about using Tuner Pro with the XDF/ADX you have. Is there the little circle thing that shows you where you are in a table?

Thanks for your help!

Would you mind taking a quick peek at my tune? I have the fuel close after converting. I can dial it in but I have compared patches and all looks good but the ISC startup stuff. I have even seen a pic on the forum with the 1861-ext shows temps but mine stops at 200 looks like I lost the over temp stuff.

I even redownloaded the file off-website and same thing.

if you would just check the X-Y stuff

Re: Using New XDF

I got a question for you.

When I convert my values i am currently using in my a9l2 tune to the new xdf/adx the fuel error goes up to like 1.08 ish even if I log 1+2 or just error 1. Another thing it randomly jumps back in to ol like something has failed.
Does not crank as well and I have adjusted the throttle stop just like I would before. I noticed hego 2 looks lazy. But here is the kicker when I go back to old tune It does none of those things. And the error is .999 to 1.02 pretty much through out MAF.
I ordered new hegos just incase mine are original 75000 miles.

Any suggestions?

another thing is kamrf 1 will be .998 2 will go to 1.07 but not with old xdf and base file
