I'm thinking that too. I still have until March before my first autocross event. But I may have to switch back to stock setup with distributor for a bit until all parts are in hand. Gives me more time to make a bolt in solution though.

Coils and wires showed up today. I wont be using the plug wires included as they are too close to the headers for me so I am going to order some short boot LS 135 degree wires and call it good. I tested the other set of LS wires I have with straight boots and they fit the coils perfectly, but they are too close to the headers too.

Below are the plug wires i ended up getting that i can confirm will work. They positivity lock on the coil terminal and clear the headers. The boots are nice and tight. They basically fit like a stock plug wire at the plug and are the perfect length for tall valve covers on a SBF with coils mounted on the valve covers. They are 9.5 inches

That awesome. I just checked email, no tracking info yet.

Thanks for the plug wire info. I didn't have high hopes for the Godzilla wires either. Probably end up getting those cables too.

Regarding the damper spacing, I am also doing an EDIS setup, and also ran in to issues with the explorer harmonic balancer (mine was several inches out due to how the serpentine belt rides in the trucks). I contacted DamperDudes and they told me they wished they could help, but they don't have the correct parts to make the custom damper. What I ended up doing was getting an old explorer damper (which you have already) for the trigger wheel/dimensions, a new balancer to be modified, and had a local machine shop make it all fit. I haven't installed it yet (getting parts together still), but it's looking good so far.

For my setup, the machine shop turned down a step on the rough cast portion of the balancer, near where the seal rides. Then the machine shop made a bushing to fill the space between that new step and the trigger wheel. It was then press fit together to the depth and timing of the explorer balancer trigger wheel. It was press fit so if I find I need to adjust the positioning of the trigger wheel for some reason, I can heat it and move it out slightly. Others have done similar, so I have *some* confidence this will prove to be a reliable setup. The balancer was a cheapo OEM style from Summit racing (~$90), the metal was from a scrap yard (~$5), and the machine work was about $75. This ultimately came in around the same or cheaper than DamperDudes I think.

Honestly no... I'm helping my friend build a coyote powered fox. All my spare time has gone to that. I did get the valve covers done and now have the coils mounted on them.
