no prob, this one is easy

Vehicle in question is my 90 supercoupe 5spd, 3.8L v6 with the stock eaton blowah @ 15lbs

When I first got the car it had a problem going into boost as soon as it would reach 5lbs or so it would misfire and buck some aweful.

The previous owner changed, cam sensor, crank sensor, TFI "DIS" module, spark plugs, plug wires, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, and upgraded the battery wiring. Still problem persists.

When I got the car I went through all of the same as well, and the problem remained. Plugs used were autolite double platinum 103s gapped at 0.045

car ran fantastic otherwise and had excellent power but as soon as it reached 5lbs it was a nasty bucky misfiring mess

car had no chip on it running on the stock tune, which wasnt the problem

injectors were all flow tested and cleaned by me found to be fine

so, any takers wanna guess what the prolem is ?

nope inlet was upgraded to a magnum powers 4" pipe with 9" cone filter -no probs there

fuel pressure was set at 40psi base which came out to about 30 at idle with 19 in of vac at 700 rpm

there was a slight exhaust leak due to a misaligned exhaust hack job due to the mid length headers, i cut it realigned it and welded it sealed no probs there

also, bank2 was consistently about 13% leaner than bank1 across the board (+1.13 kamrf2), reading the plugs revealed that bank was actually running rich, I found that the previous owner had tapped in a narrowband air/fuel ratio gauge, I removed the gauge and that fuel trim went back to 0

Is it a partially broken wire to coil that gets better or worse when flexing it such as when you changed it?

its impossible to figure out so ill just give it up

the coil was bad as well as a new plug wire including an old plug wire too

i found the coil was bad when my red supercoupe started doing the same exact thing after i swapped the coils

eith the good coil on thr black sc it still missed just not as bad, thats when i started checking all the plug wires and found two of them to be bad from the headers heating them up, the same two plug wires were bad on the older set too

stock headers back on it with a new wireset and she made a clean pull up to 15lbs of boost no prob

i would have figured it out if i got on soon enough! pretty annoying problem though. did you figure out how to put the headers back on without burning them? wire covers?
