What da prolem is? V

Vehicle is a 2000 Tahoe with 5.3L. Engine starts missing on one cylinder. (My Dad's truck) so I unplug coils until i find the one not doing anything. (cylinder balance test). The dead hole does however have spark. And all the plugs are good. So I check the compression and find it the same as the others. Then I switch the fuel injectors with 2 cylinders next to each other. The cylinder is still dead. So to recap has spark, compression and fuel. Any guesses on what it was? That was with 150k on the clock now has 230k. ps i stole Deciphas game lol

either a bad injector driver or it had a faulty lifter

Yes, we unplugged that injector and did a running compression test to confirm that the lifter was pumping up and opening the valve all the time once it had oil pressure. that test was critical to me because I hate to just change parts on a guess. I prefer to exhaust any tests at my disposal and know where i stand.

Yes it was pumping up the plunger too far past the normal height hanging the valve open. bad lifter! very bad!
