Re: Opinions on new build

Umph...I kinda really hate the vortech. Kenne bell 2.1 on a refreshed motor? I don't want to go 4v, cause money money money.
Maybe 450 at the wheels?

Opinions on new build

So I lost a piston on my current motor and have some idea for the new powerplant. Looking for some input.
I currently..well was..running a built 2v vortech motor, pullied for 12lbs boost. I am tired of the mess that the vortech makes with belt slip and overall I just haven't had much luck with it.
I don't drag race, more of an track day guy, I like my shift points around 5500-6000rpms. I am open to an occasional on3 run here and there if a sensible opportunity presents itself.
The whole car is built and can handle damn near anything I throw at it.
5 speed, 3.2 dumping rear end gears.
So with that, this is what I have in mind:

Ford boss 50, 3.7 big bore block
Forged stroker rotating assembly, 23cc dished pistons for around 9:1 compression.
Keep and refresh my built stage 2 ported PI heads.
Run my current stage 2 Bullet blower cams.
Full exhaust.
Top it of with a kennel bell 2.6 running 14 lbs boost. This will give me room grow if I want.
I also have meth injection that I run.
I'm looking for street able 550-600 at the wheels and really want the seat of the pants fun without have to rev to the moon.
I want this to be the last time I pull this motor so reliability is key.
So any thoughts are welcome.
Overkill?
Thanks ahead of time.
