Re: Launch or Boost Control
Not sure exactly. I'm def going to go with the widened wheels but if it's too much power off the line and it's all over the place, it would be nice to cut power off the line some kind of way. Maybe modify timing coming out of 1st gear only?

Launch or Boost Control
Thinking ahead here. I'm worried about putting power to the ground on my 95 Lightning after this build is done. It's a novi 2000 on a 408w. I had planned on widening the wheels to 17x11s. It already has long bars and a decently tuned suspension. I'm trying to avoid an expensive set of beadlock wheels and drag pack.
I see a lot of support for both boost and launch control for aftermarket ECUs. Are there any options out there to either tune a boost or launch control scheme with factory style ECU? timing coming out of first gear?
Or is there a reputable standalone boost/launch controller out there that can be installed on-side a factory system?

Which one is the male plug for two terminal act sensor for the early 90s mustang and lightning? Wpt-497 or 361 maybe?

Re: 10R80 SBF SWAP
Man I really like the way the 10r looks with keeping the 4.10 and 2nd gear launches!

Re: 10R80 SBF SWAP
did some math... with a 4.10, 1st gear looks useless with a 10r80 and maybe even a 6r. I think a 10r would need a shorter axle gear or lockout 1st gear. RPMs stay in the sweet spot for my centri though.

10R80 SBF SWAP
I spent a decent bit of time reading about the 6r80 SBF swaps and some of the bellhousing kits and controllers that are out there. Good reads and videos!
USShift is working on a controller for the 10r80. They are behind, but they responded to my email that it will be out this year. I got a 94 Novi supercharged Lightning with the E4OD. If that E4od ever goes out, i would love to do 10 speed swap. Texas Speed lab has been doing them with the coyote swaps and figured out how to keep the factory shifter linkages. I'd probably just send it to them.
The 10r80 transmissions are cheap and hold power. SBF Kits are reasonable and seem to be the same as the 6r80. Controller cost should be reasonable. Probably need to shorten up the rear end ratio in my truck.
Thoughts? anyone done the 6r80 swap?
