EEC-IV Speed Density 6cyl vs 8cyl hardware

I was under the impression that 6cyl E4OD hardware is different from 8cyl E4OD hardware.
I just popped open two units, and visually, they are identical.
Same number of transistors, identical circuit boards, same 1991 Motorola numbers, etc.
6cyl from 1995, 8cyl from 1994.

Am I missing something, or with a QH, I can run 8cyl bin on the 6cyl hardware?

Re: EEC-IV Data Output Link (DOL) - Tripminder

What I really want to do is avoid running 'another wire'.
I would like to tap into a wire if exists that is not used.

My truck has harness for 4x4 and Low in the dash, even though it is 2wd.

Does one of the 4x4 or Low switch wires go directly to the ECU/PCM/EEC?

There's code for 4x4 Hardware Present(_HP),
but is there a pin on the computer that corresponds to a wire that goes to the switch on the dash?
Or does that pin go directly to the transfercase?

Re: Clock Speed for 2003 Mustang ECU

XSH1 is quote "revision 1";
XSH2 is quote "revision 2";

There should be zero difference in clock speed.
There will be one minor revision to code.

EEC-IV Data Output Link (DOL) - Tripminder

Background: I making the interior of my truck stock, originally came with Premium Sound, amp is still installed original stereo long gone.
So I purchased Premium Sound CD player off ebay,, from a 1997 Contour or Mystique, same looking stereo, but unfortunately there is no clock on this stereo.

Ok, long story short, I need a clock, so I find Tripminder from the 1989-91? Super Coupes(thunderbird). These cars EEC-IV have Pin#34 puts out Data output Link(DOL) the DOL_COUNT for the Tripminder.

My EEC-IV has both Data Communications Link(DCL) and DOL enabled in the calibration, LINK_SW = 07H.

Question are:
1- The DOL_PULSE_CALC_COM3 code exists in my strategy, how is the DOL_COUNT output on pin #34?
2- Is this automatically output on pin #34 or do I have to enable it somehow?

Going to wire up the pin tonight, which may answer my question 2.

Ping, detonation only at start up crank

My basically stock 351w has a single ping/detonation only at start up, just as it fires cold or hot.

Timing is at 10*
This one has stumped me.
Only real difference is the outside temperature hovers +-5* at 32F

Anything in the tune to look for?

Data logging examples - [WANTED]

I'm looking for some example data logs from others A1C V8.
I'm just looking to compare some good data with data that I have.

Could someone post a couple data log files from the A1C V8 tune please?

Thanks.

Calibration Method - Electronic Vacuum Regulator(EVR)?

From page 8-14 of the LHBH1 strategy documentation:
An EVR calibration method, EVR.MEM, is available in the Strategy group user
area. Copies can be made by exercising the Xerox option as explained on the
second page of this Strategy Book.
Does anyone have more information on the EVR calibration method?

Re: 4R70W/AODE reference manual

Nice book. Do you have a Ford E4OD book?
I have the ASTG manual, great help when I rebuilt my trans. Nice to have the factory stuff.
