Re: I goofed, almost overheated the sc

Geez, ive had my issues forgetting dumb stuff, i always run an electric fan on a toggle and have more than once forgot to turn the fan on until the overflow is spewing coolant in traffic. Gonna wire the bugggy up to come on with the key and the toggle will just be to turn it off for water crossings ...

Re: stock a9l no egr couple questions

Found out my harness has resistors in it allready so the no egr does not cause a check engine light. Runs good so far another thing im missing is the VSS, i dont think i can adapt the musyang vss to this atlas transfer case, i know this caused stalling issues on my 5 speed mustang coming to a stop p...

stock a9l no egr couple questions

Didnt know where to post this, so here it is. got a stock 5.0 and a9l without any tuning device in my rock crawler, it has no egr on it, and the intake tract consists of the stock rubber intake tube from the throttle body to the stock maf with a k&n cone, not planning on tuning it any time soon ...

FPR, which brand?

Gotta get a new fuel pressure reg for the mustang as i had to steel the stock one back off it for another project. Question is what brand fpr for a foxbody is reliable? Had a bbk and it would bleed down pressure so fast you had to crank the engine within 3 seconds of the pump priming or it didnt hav...

msd ignition or?

planning on some 80's and an hpx, and some more boost(shooting for 9-11psi) this winter and figure the stock ignition probably isn't up to it, ive seen a few bad msd's sitting on friends work benches, is there a more reliable alternative to the failure prone msd box? what about the coil too?

cheers

Re: 2004 F350 6.0?

Yeah called around ford wants 5-6k to do the studs and hg's cheapest I found was 4300 doesn't sound like something I want to chance, guess I'll fix the 94 12v up again and keep on chugging down the road. 2004 F350 6.0?

Looking for a new tow rig anyone know any reason to stay away from an 04 6.0 diesel 6 spd? I've only had older 12v Cummins which I love(the motors not a dodge fan) and haven't herd too much good about the 6.0 powerstroke, but might check out one anyhow, its got an edge attitude chip( not sure what l...

Re: FKARC1 and FKARCH

Bringing back an old thread I had an excessively rich tip(10's sometimes high 9's) in to the point the engine would sputter and take a second to respond on a quick stab of the pedal from idle. Got fuel dialed in and it was still rich and hesitating on a quick rev. i tried changing AEM, fn1303, 1321,...

catch cans

Anyone firmilliar with the different types of catch cans? I see some offer empty cans, baffled cans, cans with steel wool as a media, and some have a porous brass filter like a compressor air water separator. Which ones are worthwhile and which ones should be avoided? Anyone make there own that is e...

Re: FMU? Adaptive learning? Top end fuel moving around...

hmmm maybe I messed that up I used -35 as was on a tune u sent me last year for the 120 load range, so I just moved it down to the 105 load also? if I changed the cells back to 01 would the computer not adapt around the fmu? I see now that I was looking at the -35 on the adaptive table wrong, it isn...

FMU? Adaptive learning? Top end fuel moving around...

well i thought I had my tune all sorted out but the other day did a couple wot passes and im not sure if its the fmu, or adaptive changing things around on me. base fuel table shows 12.47 above 90 load for all cells., adaptive learning table is set to -35 for all cells over 105 load, which should re...

Re: maf transfers & load

awesome looks like its getting there, seeing 22* spark at 6000rpm, 24* as soon as boost rolls on at 3900rpm. tuned the bottom of the maf curve to 2v in OL/Disabled adaptives, tuned maf 2.5v-3.5v with a couple wot runs, set load, 3.75v was the most I could hit N/A. so it made fuel during boost easy o...

maf transfers & load

reading over the scaling writeup "A stock pushrod 302 will only reach 55 load up to about 1200 rpm, 65 load below 3k and 75 at about 4k then reduce back down to about 65 load at 6200 rpm" that's more than what I have fn035 set at, 1300- 55 load, 2600-60, 3900-70, 5200-70, 6500-55 current m...

Re: decay rate with electric fan on?

So finished playing around and I'm finally happy with it, dasmin .35 dasmph 1, spark multiplier set back at 1.25 , ct spark vs rpm 21*, lowered .25 and .00's of the decay fn by x.75. It doesn't die coming to a stop downshifting at all with the fan on. idle drops a touch below 800 now when downshifti...

Scratch that last post set idle spark to 16 again and multiplier to 1.688 haven't drove it like this yet but with timing at 18 and multiplier at 1.5 it didn't conk out coming to a stop while downshifting, was close but never did so lowered spark more and added more to the multiplier hopefully it cur...

Re: decay rate with electric fan on?

OK so I've been playing with it a bit in the driveway today what I've done is rather than mess with the multipliers fn839 and fn841, i set fn111 ct spark vs rpm as follows Fn111 -8192-----0 700-----15 800-----24 3000-----44 8191-----44 It seems now that ipsibr is a lot more consistent, if ipsibr is ...
