4.6 mod twinturbo recommended ecm
2006 3 valve engine. Ported heads with big valves, solid cam sprockets. Street use with electric tb. Power estimate would be 1000-1200 hp. Would you recommend aftermarket ecu. I think it would be safer to have dual wideband controlled ecu. Turbo plumping would be simpler for map.

Re: New rebuild, strange loss of power
Cam is 4 degrees retarded, I must adjust it again. I checked it many times when I was assembling it. Maybe it was settled properly only after run-in.

Re: New rebuild, strange loss of power
Engine runs fine, lifters are audible but not sounding faulty. Exhaust is quieter than I expected. One cat and chamber muffler / side. H-pipe
O2 sensors show that both sides goes stoichio when cruising. Other side is wideband and driver side is switching fast. Afr doesn't go lean when accelerating to limiter.
I'll check next cam timing and lift again.

Re: New rebuild, strange loss of power
Few things checked, no help. I measured exhaust backpressure both sides from o2 sensor bungs. Both sides show zero pressure, at idle needle swings from 0-0.2 bar, but 0 at half/open throttle.
Also timing works, I checked with stroboscope that advance moves according to rpm and is correct.

I think in that point starts proper combustion?

Re: New rebuild, strange loss of power
Trickflow 170 heads, with 1.6 roller rockers.
I made some years ago 5.0 from my cobra, original gt40 iron heads, lunati stage 1 cam, long headers 330 hp. I have similar calibration on this, this feels worse than stock with 3.73 gears

Re: New rebuild, strange loss of power
Smoke machine used to verify that there is no vacuum leaks. Spout wiring checked from distributor to ecm. I can't find anything that would cause loss of power. I'm afraid that fault is compression ratio. I told machine shop to check that piston comes to deck level, but they didn't do that. It's too much under and I'm missing about 20 psi cranking pressure. Also squish clearance is too big.

Re: New rebuild, strange loss of power
Ignition type changed, plug gap verified, rockers preload 1/2 turn. Cats and mufflers checked with camera, no fault seen. Similar flow on both exhaust exits at idle. Test drive no change, spark global adder +5, little improvement but still very poor performance.
Throttle have to be checked, can't get idle down. I didn't find outside vacuum leak. I must borrow smoke machine from work to check for leaks.
I will measure spout wiring next

Re: New rebuild, strange loss of power
I have only driven 50 miles with it, so tuning is not complete. But it feels like it's missing 100 hp, I tried few advance settings and I can't feel difference.
