Re: EEC Dying or Quarterhorse???

Ok but how could the CSS do anything to the 5v signal? I'm not seeing a vref line that goes to the clutch pedal or am I missing something?

Re: EEC Dying or Quarterhorse???

Thanks for the response decipha. I spent some more time with it and I think it's something to do with my clutch pedal. I took a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Muee1zYwu54&feature=youtu.be Whenever I push the clutch in the TPS, BAP, and IAC are "ok" but when it's out they "...

EEC Dying or Quarterhorse???

Car's been running great for over a year; everything's been dialed in a no issues. Out of the blue I get a CEL about 15-30 seconds after startup and the rpm's shoot up to ~2k from the usual 800 rpm idle. Code scanner says ECT sensor too high/low, TPS too high/low, BAP too high/low, etc. When I datal...

Re: A9L2 Base Calibration

I just re-downloaded A9L2 and loaded it in BE. I got the following errors:

AFR at idle

What should the AFR be at idle? I recently installed a PLX wideband operating standalone. I was trying to dial in my fuel and I was getting conflicting information between BE and the wideband gauge. With the engine hot (180 degrees) and idling the WB was hovering around 15-16 AFR while BE was showin...

Re: Dashpot 101

thats not rpm its delta rpm which means (RPM - DSDRPM) so 500 would be 800 (nubase) + 500 = 1300 rpm that means you have it decaying too fast up across the board, reduce the decay rate Great info, thanks. Another question is, what does preposition really do? What I think happens is when the tps sho...

Dashpot 101

I'm tuning the dashpot in my car and I've read decipha's "Dashpot 101" but I'm still not getting the decay the way I'd like. One question I have, when setting up preposition, why put in an rpm value that is less than the desired idle speed? For example, dashpot 101 has RPM values of 16384,...

Re: Running ECU on a wideband instead of narrow

I dont recommend using a wideband to simulate a narrowband, widebands are slowwww to respond Can you shed some light on this? Aren't most automakers using widebands now? I thought I heard Subaru use them on the STI and I think my '10 Taurus SHO uses one. If I change my tune so it only reads HEGO 1 ...

Running ECU on a wideband instead of narrow

So I think I'm going to get a wideband because I just can't be sure that I've got my fuel/air dialed in by watching the lambses and the narrowband AFR. My question is, has anyone run their ECU off the wideband? I'm looking at the Innovate LC-2 and it says it has two analog outputs (0-5v and .1-1.1v)...

Re: idle air

I had followed decipha's instructions in Idle Air 101 and made a spreadsheet to do the calculations.

Re: Low Speed Bucking

Idle Air 101 is done and set but when you talk about dashpots...yeah, everything just kinda goes foggy. My idea of dashpots pretty much ends once the "cold start" is done and the car is at curb idle so any info about how dashpot settings affect low speed driveability would be awesome. Than...

Re: Assistance with A9L2 base tune

If you've got the stock MAF but have 24lb injectors and the high and low injector slopes haven't been changed, that could be causing a lot of your problems.

Low Speed Bucking

Does anyone know what causes low speed bucking and is there something in the tune that can be changed to get rid of it? Specifically my problem is cruising at slow speed (think parking lot) about 20mph in 2nd gear and revs are about 1200rpm or so. After a few seconds the car starts to buck and it ge...

Flag Definitions in BE

Is there a list somewhere of what all the different flags PID's mean? For example, if I want to add an LED gauge to my custom dashboard in BE that indicated when the idle flag is set, which PID would I be looking for? Same goes for things like when the A/C is on or off or an electric fan, etc. Does ...

Re: Throttle body airflow (Setting Idle Air)

Thanks for the reply decipha. For the record, my throttle body stop is completely out (i.e. not even contacting the butterfly) so the TB is completely closed. Still, you're right that with an ISCDC of 0% (disabled) my AM is right at 32kg/hr with an average rpm of 750 and my LAMBSE's are 1 and HEGO's...

Throttle body airflow (Setting Idle Air)

Following the "Idle Air 101" procedure and I can't get a "base airflow" number. What I mean by that is when I disable the ISC to get the AM value bypassing the TB, the idle is staying in the 7-800rpm range even though desired rpm is 672. The engine isn't trying to die when the IS...
