I don't see why a modern 28-pin AT28C64 or AT28C256 eeprom coudn't be socketed in place of the 24-pin, some repinning will be required.
We know the pin numbers, and the Mbus(Versa/VME standard) enables compatibility with standard off-the-shelf memory devices.

Old 87C66 and 87P66 were only good for about 100-200 erase/reprogram.

Time to get to work.

Re: MOATES -- FYI

Most EEC-IV have Erasable Programable Read Only Memory(EPROM) with Ultra Violet ligth erasable.
Some were One Time Programed(OTP).
And EEC-V have EEPROM, electrically erasable programable read only memory.

Re: MOATES -- FYI

I say its time to reset, figure out the 24-pin EEPROM, buy some sockets, and reprogram.
If we can read the EEPROM, there should be zero reason why we cant write to it.
We know what the pins are labeled, it's a matter of figuring out the write alogrithm.
We are able to figure out everything else, shouldn't be too hard, lol.

Re: MOATES -- FYI

If they can't source the parts, netiher could anyone else, not feasible for anyone to purchase the intellectual rights and not be able to build anything.
It is what it is...
Something else will come along.

Re: AD software to hardware

The end goal is to port the speed density code to 104-pin box.

Re: AD software to hardware

Perfect, that is what I am looking for, I think.

Looking for 8065 processor on a 60-pin unit for Speed Density with auto transmission.

Maybe I got the letters transposed 6DDB vs 6DBD?

Re: AD software to hardware

Yes, it is the EEC-V single bank, 60-pin, CDBD.
I'm disassembling to attempt running it on a 104-pin EEC.

Sure would like to find an EEC-V 60-pin EL hardware for myself.

Re: Need custom EEC-V tuning for governor operation

Acesales wrote: 2022 Oct 26, 21:36 I tried all different adjustments of the governor. I could never steady the engine. It's like the engine timing was all over the place. Near idle it would be 10 degrees restarted. Just barely touch the throttle and timing would jump up to 20 or 30 degrees advanced. RPM would jump by a 1000 RPM or more. Is there a way to lock the timing in the Ranger computer?
I am assuming that is with the actuator installed.
Fast erratic governor behaviour may be caused by very soft or worn couplings in the drive train.
How many hours? Hows the coupling?

Hows the speed sensor pickup, tested to be within spec?

I think this Brown Box is the governor:

Here is the instruction manual:

Now that you have the engine running, you just need to configure the majic brown box,...maybe?
