Re: Maf recommendations?

Just ordered the hpx e in a 3" tube. I looked on your reference chart and see hpx, but this wouldn't work for the hpx e, right?

Maf recommendations?

I'm can't decide which MAF sensor to use for my build. It's a 94 cobra, basically stock engine with Anderson b-21 camshaft and an on3 kit. What maf would you use?

A9l to a3m issues

A friend of mine just traded his entire setup. He had an a9l eec on his 306. He traded it for a turbo motor and an a3m eec with jms selectable chip. The chip is supposed to have a tune for the turbo setup. The problem is, now that it is all installed, there is no spark and no fuel pump. We can jump ...

Re: Changing idle characteristics

Leaning it out to about 14.5 at idle did make it sound a bit healthier, however anything over 15 degrees of timing and it damn near sounds like the stock camshaft. I have it idling at 10 degrees right now and it sounds good but iac DC is around 46%

Re: Changing idle characteristics

Thanks. I'm already open loop at idle, but I haven't changed the commanded afr at idle, so it's probably rich. I have a question though. It's using the borderline table for spark at idle, what will changing the mbt table do if it's reading off of the borderline table. Anyhow, I'm going right now to ...

Changing idle characteristics

I'm trying to figure out why other cars with very similar camshafts sound a lot meaner than mine. Is there anything I can do in the tune to get a little more chop at idle?

Re: I think my MAF is pegged (datalog)

Imy starting to think the stock gt40 heads just won't flow any more air after this point. Which makes sense due to it not leaning out as rpm increases.

Re: I think my MAF is pegged (datalog)

All my circuits to my MAf are good. Surely there is more airflow at 6000 rpm than at 5300 right?
I zipped the log and attached it, maybe it will work.

Re: I think my MAF is pegged (datalog)

Ok, I'm going to check that while we are slow here at work. Then I'm going to try to get this log uploaded. It's a long 3rd gear pull. Just want your expertise on what I need to be doing.

Re: I think my MAF is pegged (datalog)

Just dawned on me, I guess I need to check and make sure I'm getting the full 5 volt reference signal to the mass air flow meter

Re: I think my MAF is pegged (datalog)

Okay thanks I kind of thought that it was the switching. Mass air flow voltage reach 4.48 volts at 5300 RPM and stay there to 6000

I think my MAF is pegged (datalog)

I think my MAF is pegged. It looks like it reaches max voltage around 5,300 rpm, and holds it all the way to 6,000 rpm. I just now figured out how to datalog, and im trying to get my MAF curve sorted out. I have forced closed loop for WOT and have timing set around 26 degrees. I noticed it went open...

Spark tables

It's been awhile since I messed with the tune in my car. Thanks decipha for all the help you offered in the past. I want to try and finish my tune, but I'm running into an issue. I want to say you told me to use the borderline table for adjustments, however, I have 35 degrees commanded at wot and it...

Binary editor dashboard question

In binary editor on the dashboard, does the spark pid display commanded spark from the table or actual spark?

If the base timing is set at 14 degrees, and my spark it reads 10 degrees, do I have 10 degrees or 14 degrees actual?

Re: Idle spark question

This is the thread that had read.

I used the borderline table to adjust my timing. I haven't messed with any other tables besides tip in.

Thanks

Idle spark question

So, I saw in a post were you were talking about tip in, and how setting the table to 60 will eliminate it. I did this the other day and while yes it did stop retarding the timing on tip in events, my idle quality suffered. I found that instead of staying at 10 degrees, my timing is now all over the ...

Cold start idle changes?

Is there a way to change the cold start characteristics? On a start up, it initially hits about 2k rpm for about a second and then comes down to idle. I know this is normal, but my engine is old and starting to hear bearing noise especially on cold starts. My thinking is that If I can get it to wher...

Dude, you're awesome. I've read all the 101s, you're write ups, and reference pages, but now all of it is clicking. Next time I'm in New Orleans, you should let me buy you lunch. I do have one more question. When commanding closed loop at wot, you recommend taking 6 degrees of timing out. What metho...

Re: Trying to get started with fuel need help

Thanks, thats starting to make a little sense now. I will give it a shot this evening.

I haven't change lamse to lambda from afr yet. But this morning, at a 80mph cruise with 36 % load, my lamse was 11.9 to 12. 3 afr

Re: Trying to get started with fuel need help

Well, I had someone drive me while I adjusted the maf curve. I wasn't getting it to change though. Let's say my stft was 5, I would add a little at that MAF voltage point and the stft would stay the same. I would add a little more, still no change. I went through most of the maf curve like this. The...

Re: Trying to get started with fuel need help

Thanks, I have the adaptives disabled at this time, so my kamrf is 1.0 and long terms are 0. I was running through the maf voltage and adjusting until my short terms were staying close to 0. will this method work?

Trying to get started with fuel need help

Im pretty sure I have my aide air dialed in now, and I borrowed a wideband to work on my fuel this weekend. However, I'm pretty sure the wideband isn't reading correctly. I was adding fuel to get the afr to match lamse, and every time I got close the car would die and then the wideband would read fu...
