Re: Signs of a bad PIP sensor?

98 MPH trap speed. I was disappointed with my runs but my ignition timing wasn't advanced enough for my combination. Think I'll pick up some decent time / MPH if I advance the timing about 10 degrees?

Re: Signs of a bad PIP sensor?

Okay excellent. I am not sure how accurate these sensors are suppose to be. Unfortunately, this was a quarter mile run.

Re: PLX SM-Vac/Boost

That makes sense to me. I would clarify in your write up though how to pull timing for boost: its been said before that the general rule of thumb to be safe is to pull out 1/2 degree for every lb of boost, I have FR 60's and a high pressure 255 so the fuel requirements are covered for the amount of ...

Re: PLX SM-Vac/Boost

I want to log boost because I hear people talking about pulling/scaling timing for every pound of boost. So what you are saying is, pull timing based on load values (airmass) rather than #'s of boost? Do you have a link for dataq?

Re: PLX SM-Vac/Boost

http://www.moates.net/plx-smvacboost-p-167.html?cPath=48 What other options are out there to log boost? I have heard people using a GM 3 bar MAP sensor but I'm not sure how it will physically interface with the ECM. I think people have used the EGR input to datalog this newly added sensor but I woul...

Has anyone had any experience with this device? Any other cheaper options for logging Vac/Boost?

Re: Signs of a bad PIP sensor?

I was trying to find another WOT bin file on here and didn't see anything. I'd like to do a comparison to see what mine looks like to someone elses. If anyone has a WOT recording, please upload! I'm thinking that this fluctuation is normal but would just like to confirm.

Signs of a bad PIP sensor?

I noticed some strange drop offs in RPM when going through the quarter mile. How accurate are these sensor suppose to be? I see small jumps in RPM that can't be accurate. I am dropping off in RPM while the TP is WOT. See attached datalog.

Re: PMAS MAF Model 30T

I think I want to go blow thru and I have found a 3" protube setup from PRO-M but it comes with the sensor and it's super expensive ($300 bucks). Any other options? Does anyone just sell the tube alone?

Re: PMAS MAF Model 30T

Cool,I went to check out precisionflowlabs and the URL is broken. I checked PMAS's website and didn't see a housing for sale. Know where I can get a 3" housing for this piece? I checked ebay and found a 75 MM Mass Air Meter that I think I can use. I believe I would be able to remove the sensor ...

Understood.

Check out my datalog from the run. I am noticing some strange things happening in regards to RPM. Do you think my PIP sensor is going?

Yeah the sensor insert element. No housing came with it. I don't think it's just a stock ford element but you would probably know better than I would.

Re: How much did I leave on the table?

Strange that my run only saw a load of 75% when I took the car to the strip with my slightly modified J4J1 tune. I guess timing has a direct correlation to load values. I think I have it sorted out and once I get home I will try this modified T4M2 setup and see how it runs. BTW, I was going to uploa...

Well I pretty much got this one for free and wanted to use it if it made sense. I guess I'll email PMAS and see if they have anything to offer for a 1994 / 1995.

Re: How much did I leave on the table?

Based on the "Stock" T4M2 borderline spark table would it be fair to assess the following changes would be needed since the current value in tune is 30 and not 28?: For engines with aftermarket heads, its typical to reach loads of 90 and greater, increase the ENTIRE TABLE (ALL CELLS) by th...

Re: PMAS MAF Model 30T

Awesome -

Do you know where I can pick up a housing for this piece? I checked a few online vendors and didn't come up with anything that looks like the housing only. All seem to come with housing & sensor.

Yeah they the MAF is calibrated for 60 pound injectors.

Is it a good MAF? How accurate are they?

Re: How much did I leave on the table?

I was confused myself. You stated: The T4M2 timing table is setup for 30 degrees of timing @ 70 load for a bone stock E7 headed 5.0 mustang. Add 1 degree to ALL CELLS AT 70 LOAD AND ABOVE for E7 headed engines AFTER fuel has been dialed in. For engines with aftermarket heads, its typical to reach lo...

PMAS MAF Model 30T

I inherited a PMAS MAF and wondering if I should keep this one or sell it for my 1994 turbo 302 set up. Model:30T Serial: 13C00045 Calib: MT160 Thoughts? Should I sell it and go lightning or is this one better? I don't know much about it nor do I know how to mount it yet. This was was for a foxbody ...

Re: How much did I leave on the table?

I think I understand why you said to increase my FP - because I will run out of injector since they are only 24lb/hr? I have some 60 lb/hr EV6 ones that are sitting in my basement that I could use. Plans were to go turbo this winter.

Also, do you think my load levels are low for my setup?

Re: How much did I leave on the table?

I don't know about getting 1.5 seconds off, that seems pretty aggressive without some serious 60' help. My 60' time was god awful, if I remember correctly I was averaging around 2.5 seconds. I just could not get her to hook up with my street tires - I either spun um or bogged down. Well, I was going...

How much did I leave on the table?

Took my 1994 mustang 302 H/C/I to the track last week. Best I could pull off was a 14.8 @ 98 mph. I could not hook up and haven't dialed in the timing yet. I was seeing loads of around 73-75, AFR between 12.5 - 13.5 and SAFTOT from 23 to 26. I have TW 170's with pretty much all the bolt ons. I haven...

Re: KAMRF1 vs KAMRF2 - LTFT differences

I had an opportunity tonight to change the Stock O2's and changed the oil (went to syn). The car seemed to run much better than it did prior to the changes. I looked at the data log and it seems that the stock O2's are now sniffing a bit better but take a look and see what you think. Next step i wil...

hard hot starting

Even after I get it started and drive it a while it will still sometimes clonk out on me. It seems like on start its referencing some ECT values that hinder idle operations. What para...

Re: KAMRF1 vs KAMRF2 - LTFT differences

I have opened those files in EA using .CSV format with no issues. I think I gave you .xls format, maybe that is the issue. That adaptive table is unchanged from the stock binary file used for a cobra (j4j1) at least I haven't messed around with it. I will pick up 2 new hegos tonight and see how that...

KAMRF1 vs KAMRF2 - LTFT differences

Since eectuning is down... My current set up has the WB O2 sensor on bank 1 (drivers side). I have ran a few data logs through EA while in open loop and with adaptive learning disabled. My only goal was attempting to smooth out the MAF transfer function. I re-enabled the adaptive learning (cleared K...
