I've been thinking the same. Last time I threw a fuel pressure gauge on it; the pressure took 45 mins to bleed off. Sound normal?

Re: Tune review (Hot start)

Ok; well this car keeps making a liar of me. It seems that my tune has progressed and now the car does a long crank before starting even when holding the pedal to the floor.
This is one hour after warming the car up.
When the car started; grey smoke came out of the exhaust in a small cloud.

Yes. It starts every time that way. Sometimes it seems a bit loaded up, but nothing major. It will start right up and idle fine.

When hot; I try to start and she cranks quite a bit before starting. I don't touch the gas. She cranks over fine.
If I put the gas to the floor when starting; she starts right up.

Re: Tune review (Hot start)

Michael,
I tried adding and subtracting to cranking pulsewidth vs. ECT.
I zero'd out a few pips in cranking table.
I added and removed fuel to open loop startup table.
Nothing makes a difference except opening the TB during startup.
Any ideas?

Re: Calibrated Mafs...what gives?

Being a tuning forum I was referring specifically to tuning them. 20 years ago people relied on calibrated MAF's since there wasn't a whole lot of support available for tuning the ecu's. At that time it was "ok" to have drive ability issues since that's basically all you had to work with ...

First I've heard of anyone looking down upon them. Any MAF that can accurately meter the air going in to the engine is perfectly fine. Its original application is irrelevant. Valve cover breather and tune.

If I install a breather on the oil fill tube with air return hose removed and holes plugged; will the adaptives compensate for the non metered air? I would leave the pcv operational.
