Re: Calibrated Mafs...what gives?

Being a tuning forum I was referring specifically to tuning them. 20 years ago people relied on calibrated MAF's since there wasn't a whole lot of support available for tuning the ecu's. At that time it was "ok" to have drive ability issues since that's basically all you had to work with ...

Re: Calibrated Mafs...what gives?

First I've heard of anyone looking down upon them. Any MAF that can accurately meter the air going in to the engine is perfectly fine. Its original application is irrelevant. If anyone tells you different they're probably just ignorant. Others may have different opinions but I don't personally see ...

Calibrated Mafs...what gives?

I know these mafs and adjustable fuel pressure regulators are old school but they still work great for guys. Why are these mafs looked down upon?

Valve cover breather and tune.

If I install a breather on the oil fill tube with air return hose removed and holes plugged; will the adaptives compensate for the non metered air? I would leave the pcv operational. The reason I'm considering doing this is due to the pcv system passing oil into the Systemax ll intake. I've already ...

Re: Hot start issues

What's weird is that my engine never had this issue with previous tunes and Performer RPM 1 intake.
Is there a way that I could test the ECT wiring? Would there be other symptoms?
I do miss my QH and the ability to see what's going on.
Thanks Michael.

Hi all. I'm having hot start issues with my '95 Mustang GT. After attempting to tune with Quarterhorse and TunerPro; I gave up due to difficulties of learning all of the technical steps and such. Custom CAI question

I've been thinking about going back to the factory air intake or something similar for my car. My large conical filter sits in the engine bay as far forward as possible. I'm thinking the factory air box would be much better at deterring high ACT's. The issue is that I run a 90mm LMAF and a 75mm TB. ...

Sensitive throttle

I recently converted my 95GT from auto to a T5. Since doing so; my throttle is like a light switch. I take off in first and touch the throttle and the car starts to buck badly until I push in the clutch pedal. The darn car wants to leap forward. I've also noticed that I have to slip the clutch to ge...

you have to change trload tstrat the tcc, sol a, sol b, IS's and disable all the auto trans fault codes

It's never easy; is it? Lol! So if I swapped in a t4m2; I just swap my tune over and the ECU will ignore the auto tranny settings?
Thanks!

Just some more random comments. I'm not for a minute bashing TW170s, but I think they would need to be really right for an AODE car to put down much over 350HP. Re: SAFTOT issue

If you do the dyno thing again I would check it with a timing light and eliminate any questions of timing. That shouldn't have any chance of lying to you assuming the balancer marking is accurate. No idea about the converter. If it is truly locking up in 3rd you have an accurate HP reading no matte...

Re: SAFTOT issue

Yeah, saw that in your sig. But if it's a original RPM, it'd take a lot of porting. You can see in pics the size diff where the two halve mate. Original is/was same as my non rpm performer. Which is choking my little 302. And static CFM's don't always tell the whole story. Something to consider if ...

My RPM upper and lower have been ported, welded and flowed by Panhandle Performance. Their claim on flow is 320cfm on stage lll porting.
