Re: Inferior software?

I had a similar experience calling a local dyno shop. Just wanted to get dyno numbers and see if minor tune tweaks would pick anything up. He may have taken it that I wanted him to do the tuning changes but man he seemed turned off when I told him about my car, mainly the stock ecu and wiring. Wanted to still take it there to show him how nice the car is and how good it runs but never did.

Re: Using IAT in Slot MAF and Wideband question

I switched mine to the iat of the slot maf and you get much more accurate readings. You’ll want to adjust the temps it pulls timing to lower numbers though.

And no the narrowbands are still needed, that just allows you to datalog the wideband.

Re: Tune

Glad to see an update here. Dave is my welding supplier at work and I recommended you to him for this project.

Re: Inferred Ambient ACT

Although I dont recall seeing the crazy iat's you are I dealt with similar fueling issues due to heat soak. I re-wrapped my hotside last winter and this time around also wrapped the headers, they were just heat painted previously. That change has seemed to help out alot as my fuel trims didnt move around nearly as much last summer.

Re: Electric fan control on Sd4x

Im sure this will be a more expensive route then what you're looking at but this is a top notch stand alone controller. after many setups with cheap controllers and relays I went to one of these and have been very happy. The PMW control and soft start features are super nice. I went with one of his sensors that goes inline with the lower radiator hose but you could possibly save money there and use the ecu temp sensor instead?

Re: 4.6 DOHC Noise

You should run yours stock being N/A. The Decipha way I mentioned is specifically for boost. I think the details are in the getting started write up.

Re: 4.6 DOHC Noise

my guess would be pcv system. on my turbo fox, much different pcv setup being turbo, I run it the way Decipha recommends and when I had the system mostly sealed up it would create an odd whistle shortly after starting, which would then go away, but on shut down it would bleed off and whistle like you're describing. I couldnt stand it so and couldnt figure out where it was coming from so I popped a few tiny holes in the line to the oil filler neck which thankfully made it stop.

Re: Dialling in Idle Air

If you are running deciphas A9L2 and mechanical idle then disregard that you just pay attention to the logged idle airmass correction.

If you’re still working with stock idle setup then yes spout comes out and iac disconnected. Disconnect tps if you need to open the throttle blade while the engine is running
