Re: Flex Fuel Sensor for E85?

Decipha
I believe the sensor was pioneered by GM, and duplicated by AEM and Haltec.
It seems to be a tube that gets spliced into the fuel line with a laser beam and
photo cell inside the darkness of the fuel changes the signal. Some are frequency based
So would need a digital? Input in the pcm.

Eflex.com or something similar makes a piggy back computer that splices itself in the harness at the injectors. It uses a table in addition to stock from 0% to 80% very linear increase in fuel and timing.

This additional table feature would be an awesome decipha programming addition to RZASA for e85 for boosted vehicles in the northern states.
ethanol dosent want to vaporize
Below 50 deg so they add preimum to it during the winter months so the cars will start (october through April it is
Cold in Minnesota). It can be as low as e50 though most of the time it is e70.
They do switch back to e85 in the summer but if the gas station dosent have many flex fuel customers it can take a while to get back to e85. Without a sensor you never know what your running

Re: Coil on plug rewire

Why?
My best guess is, the valve covers are so much wider on the 32 valve. There wasn’t enough space to get your thumb under the connector and release it from the bottom.
There is also the wiring harness for the fuel injectors in that area. I looked at some pictures but I couldn’t even see the coils.

Coil on plug rewire

The pin out for the pcm and wiring for the coils are the same.
Between the 1999 Svt Lightning and 2004 marauder.

The marauder has the connector shell rotated so the release tab is on the top.

The lightning / crown vic / f150 will still plug in but their
Release tabs are on the bottom. The wires would be switched / crossed.

That’s why it needs to be repinned. The difference
Is mechanical not electrical.

Re: Fuel pump relay buzz

It’s comforting to know if I can find the right settings for the return style fuel pumps. And double check the wiring for the coils. At least I have landed on the right tune and a pcm that can run it. I plugged in the RZASA pcm and at least the pats didn’t come on. The 97 dosent have pats.

Was confused about the coil on plug wiring between the old style and new style. It would appear the plugs are the same but they are switched 180 degrees. I am using a newer 03/04 marquis computer that’s wired the same as the cobra and old style coils. That could be why I’m not getting spark.

Re: Fuel pump relay buzz

I remember reading the alternator voltage regulator wires need to be switched on the 03 cobra and the marquis is also an 03. If the voltage regulator is hooked up backwards by plugging in the 03 marquis pcm. That could cause all the relays to chatter.

Fuel pump relay buzz

1997 ford f150 4.6l 2v 4x4 return style fuel system.
Using RZASA and a computer from 04 mercury marqui.
Pdno and deipha adx. Actual relay wired near the fuel pumps has a 60 hz buzz. Fuel pumps and pressure with ignition on not just cranking. I think I may have switched on a wrong patch. Switched to 97 f150 harness with coil on plug. I think coils are wired different between 97 and 04,
