Ford 7.3 super duty ecm tuning?

Is there any quarter horse support Ford 7.3 super duty diesels? I don't have one...but I could some day.

Re: dashpot decay fn879

Found some threads here on the function. So being an automatic I'm guessing I don't need too much decay.

Re: dashpot decay fn879

I just changed all values in column 2 to .1000 and it decays much faster now. And doesn't overshoot idle. I still would like to know what each column in this function does.

dashpot decay fn879

hello. im looking for a little guidance on this table. what do the values in the x and y columns mean. and what do they measure? are they time? air volume? i saw Deciphas writeup had a sample with these values: 2.00 0.0025 1.25 0.0800 0.50 0.0030 0.30 0.0007 0.00 0.0007 0.00 0.0007 Meanwhile mine lo...

Just wondering if you ever found a def file? I'm looking for one myself so I can read out my ecm to retrieve/read some data from it.

Re: Cold weather hard start.

Think I found the issue. Some reason 40 deg column was above the 80. In other words the order was going 200-1.49 40-11.98 80-3.98 -65535-15.98

Re: Cold weather hard start.

Is it FN1350? No value at 20'. Goes from 80' straight to -65536. Value at 80 is 3.998 value at -65536 is 15.854

Cold weather hard start.

Hello everyone. This seems to be a fuel problem. If I crank it long enough it will eventually start, as long as the battery doesn't die. When the weather is warm or if the vehicle is already warmed up it starts fine. Now that the weather is cold (20f) , it is hard to start and starving for fuel to s...

Re: Octane switch Spark table

I found the updated def file on the downloads page. The outdated one I got the other day I think was in the getting started write-up.

Octane switch Spark table

Hello. I was just wondering how the octane switch (pin 29 in cbaza) when grounded manipulates timing? Is there a spark subtraction table or something? And can it be used to add or subtract timing when grounded? I just realized I have nothing going to pin 29 on my ECM. I am running your U4P2 def on t...

Re: FN1862N vs. ISPIBR

Lambses are perfect in neutral (.98-1.02) but (.92-.96) in drive? Is this because commanded lambe in drive is slightly enriched from stoich?

Re: FN1862N vs. ISPIBR

Was just looking at the idle air write up. Just wondering why BZZRPM is recommended to be at zero on cold startup? Will this not add RPM at startup? If so how do I get a cold start high idle or a warm restart high idle?

Will not stay running now. Should I disconnect iac plug and set idle screw till I maintain steady idle and then turn off plug in iac , restart and then follow those ^ instructions?

Re: FN1862N vs. ISPIBR

I got it! Damn iac wire came slightly out our the 60 pin connector. So now I have good startup and warmup but ISPIBR is still at .60 at startup. When it's warmed up on restart it surges from 250-1500 rpm violently and sometimes stalls. It takes a minute or two for idle to stabilize.

Thought the iac test procedure was KOEO measure 10.5-12v at iac connector? Is this because it's a custom tune? What is the test procedure I should be using?

Key on engine off I measured no voltage at the iac connector . Appears to have a good power but no ground from ecm. could this be the tune at all? Or am I looking at wiring or an ECM?

Re: FN1862N vs. ISPIBR

Fn1862? I wish it was that simple. I have to figure out why my iac is not working first. I pulled it off, it is clean like new and the plunger valve is moving free. Also solenoid end is free. I have to Ohm it out and check key on iac harness pin voltage and see if it's getting power before I assume ...

Re: FN1862N vs. ISPIBR

True. You're right. I feel like I am close. Now that I think about it my fueling looks pretty accurate and runs good when warm. Just has no dashpot. Slight hesitation, bucking, and occasional stalling, no rpm decay, and no fast idle during start ups or warm up anymore.
