Re: 93 lightning - cam problems

It may have even higher compression than you think. Its easy to overlook something and end up with more. I'd take out even more spark timing out of it. What does the spark table look like? I'm glad you found out it had the older firing order , good catch.

Re: Erratic Fuel Pressure

liquid filled can be a pain since they need to hold the liquid in they can build pressure. If you need to take a hot reading you can burp it. There should be a small rubber plug on the side somewhere. just pry it out slightly with your fingernail. I would suggest taking reading with it either hot or...

Re: Cylinder Balance Test Cylinder Sequence

I'd use the wiring schematic and ring them out with a multimeter from a few injectors to the salt and pepper plugs. Seems simplest way to me. First check the injector order in the tune.

Re: MAF Transfer Points Won't Fit

On the homepage under write ups go to fuel. There is a generic maf flow to give a visual as to how they interpolate. You just increase each notch to give a smooth progression to each subsequent notch.

Re: Could i just run a TON of octane instead of retarding Ig

I took this from the gasoline page on Wikipedia. In ww2 the allies had insanely high octane. "In 1943, the Rolls-Royce Merlin aero engine produced 1,320 horsepower (984 kW) using 100 RON fuel from a modest 27 liter displacement. By the time of Operation Overlord during World War II both the RAF...

Re: Could i just run a TON of octane instead of retarding Ig

Detonation is when the mixture explodes instead of a smooth controlled burn. Mixing fuels is a valid way to add octane although not very accurate.
Predetonation is a mix of two words not a real thing. Pre-ignition and detonation similar concept but different things.

Re: Could i just run a TON of octane instead of retarding Ig

I have only looked at TunerPro and it is stupid-ridiculous. Most of the stuff isnt even labeled. It's mainly created for the guys who wrote the program. So right now i'm like "fuck it". What if i just put e85 and some octane booster in the tank to run 10psi instead of retarding ignition t...

Re: Check FN035 Sans SC Belt

Since the supercharger isn't spinning the engine will draw in less air and the mass air meter will just read the air drawn in which it would as na. Blower spinning will force more air through the system.

Re: Coolant temps higher with the heat on

When I get home I can check mine for the heater on off difference. You can try boxing in the grill to duct air where it's needed. I would go to a bigger oil Cooler. On the heater issue, the core has coolant circulating at all times on my 86 since there is no water valve. So I don't think there would...

Re: Flowmaster Super 50 Delta Flow Mufflers - 1,000+ hp

Ah I see. I think with the x pipe and creative use of a cutout you can make some headway.
As a quick test you could make a cork of sorts to block flow from one tailpipe. In this test flow would go across the xpipe and out the remaining free tailpipe. I'd be curious to hear if it helps.

I gotta feeling it's the 3 inch pipes. Are the series 50 the hushpower ones? Lol if you need quiet maybe you could force it into a single muffler for quiet, then open an electric cutout which sends it back to duals

Have you tried squirting some gasoline in the intake and see if she fires on that?

pop open the distributor cap and see if water got in. If so spray a good shot of WD-40 in there and the underside of the cap. Should help drive away the water.

Re: Nitrous info

Rikil, your truck could use some lower gears like 4.56. Or a higher stall as Decipha said. One or both would be great to let the engine into the sweet spot quicker. If the motor runs hard at 3000 try a convertor near that stall. Wake it right up.

Re: ACT sensor

Turbo Buick guys are moving it the opposite way, to the intake. (Grass is greener thing?) The air does warm up on the path to the cylinder so my thinking is that it's not worth the trouble. plus if you are boosted you will know if you have hot or cool boost temps.

Only three things it runs on fuel, air , spark. Other than that then you have a cooling system failure of some kind. I found this. "From our previous experience with E85, we knew the max power air/fuel ratio window can be slightly rich and still make max power, so to be safe, we stayed with the...
