Thank you decipha!

Just wanted to thank you for the meth tune you helped me with three years ago. I took my car to the track last Friday in hopes to sneak into the 9's. Long story short I was only able to make two passes and it didn't happen. On the first pass the engine fell flat on its' face close to the end of my p...

Re: 98 Cobra with a Paxton Novi2000

That's exactly what what I was thinking.
Last time I put my car to his dyno he was amazed at how I was able command af ratio without messing with the maf x ratio....The way you taught me ;)

Re: 98 Cobra with a Paxton Novi2000

Yup, it made a little over 400rwhp. The car does get lean at 6500 rpm (12:1 w/ meth) . You've helped me out so much with my tune, I should have sent him your way :/ He's spent well almost $2k to get it running. Brother is a bit stubborn lol. With that said, we left the shop today with what I think i...

98 Cobra with a Paxton Novi2000

My brother has a 98 Cobra with a Paxton Novi2000 pushing 10lbs of boost (meth injected). This thing has been a nightmare. Its been in an out of the shop for almost a year. It went in for a chip tune. First issue was fuel dropping pressure in the upper RPM. The engine tuner ended up sending my brothe...

Re: Finally made some passes

Took her out again last night but was only able to make one pass due to a blown header gasket. The two changes I made was tightening the blower belt and adding HEET to my meth setup. Previous logs showed that I had quit a bit of belts slip at 5000 rpm. This time round she peaked at 18psi. Also, beca...

Re: Finally made some passes

I had quite a bit of load drop up top, so I'm suspecting blower belt slippage. I didn't get a chance to crank the tensioner down This tune was for 21 deg total.

Finally made some passes

Ran a bit slower than I expected. Track conditions were a little tough. AD was 3000' ft. The car is very consistent with the C4 trans. My first pass was a 10.91 @ 124, second was 10.92 @ 124. 60ft for both passes was 1.6

So I've re-checked my Maf connection. Everything is square there. Datalog of the car idling shows mav V. average of .610 at idle. Any other possibilities?

Flashing CEL after C4 swap

So I've got a flashing CEL just just appeared post C4 swap. The changes I've made to my tune is the recommended idle air tune. That definitely helped with my car's idle characteristics. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Rich

Reverified all my vacuum connections. Didn't find anything out of the norm. 5speed to C4 Swap

So I'm looking to swap my 90GT's TKO out in favor of a C4. Is there anything in tune that needs to be changed on for making a manual to auto switch?
Thanks for the help,

Re: Datalogging A/F AND Boost. Is it possible?

I took her to the track a month ago and wasn't happy. Had some major traction issues. I'm thinking it was the 14+ year old shocks lol. the right rear was completely blown. I've since then replaced it with some adjustables.

Re: Datalogging A/F AND Boost. Is it possible?

It surges more when its cold. At warm Idle she seems to settle.
When I ran a search of IPSIBR two values populated. 1)idle-Isc max which is set to .450. 2)idle-Isc min which is set to -0.200.

I recently changed setting NIOLD from 250 to 1 to force open loop at idle. Maybe that's the issue?

Have verified that egr and its still disabled. I've tried disconnecting both electrical and vacuum connections but still have the issue. The only major change is weather. Its gotten a lot colder here in AZ.

Re: Datalogging A/F AND Boost. Is it possible?

So I finally installed a 3 bar sensor but am now having issues. The car has now developed a surge at idle?! Of course I did the obvious thing and searched for a vacuum leak but she's clean. no leaks at the new sensor vacuum source or its connections. Any ideas?

Re: Datalogging A/F AND Boost. Is it possible?

Ok, my innovate is already hooked up via usb. I'll look around for a 3 bar GM map sensor. Is there any specific year/model I should be looking for? I've read that transfer functions have to be inputed as well. Where in BE do you place these values?

I have already paid for the innovate license. So if I'm understanding this correctly all I'd need to do is add designate another channel for boost usage?

This is true! I guess I can use Logworks w/ the Innovate to datalog. Just nice having the ability to correlate the a/f's with rpm. Is it possible to do that with Logworks?

I still I have plenty more adjustment for tightening if needed. that's what I've never understood how people are able to measure how many pounds they're putting on to their blower belt. The other thing is knowing how much Tension is too much. Always a fear of snapping that snout :/
