24# injectors: need clarification

I picked up a take-off set of 24s from an 05 mustang 4.6 with less than 1000 miles on them as an upgrade for my 460. They look almost identical to the Ford Racing M-9593-LU24A injectors. Same body, same connector, 6 hole, just a shade different purple. Does anyone know if these are the same? I'd lik...

Re: hego not reading

i am using the BE to do my tuning i just started tuning my bronco now with the quarter horse and it runs like poop during cold start and idle. I wanted to start with tuning the fuel in open loop so i forced the computer to stay in open loop then i came into a problem with the hego is not showing a ...

Re: 460 conversion to Mass Air

As for the tcc, my truck was a 97 factory SD OBD1 because its an "over 8500 gvw". I'd imagine the tcc change was an OBD2 thing. I don't recall which forum I found that little tidbit about the diode, but I decided it wasn't worth the gamble and sent back the HOG0 in exchange for a WAY1. As ...

Re: 460 conversion to Mass Air

If your truck is a 94, I'd imagine a HOG0 may be best as it is also for the 94, if I have things straight. Another addition: the kit I'm using supplies a maf sensor specified for the 95 5.0 but it is installed to a 80mm flange housing. When I initially modified the maf transfer, I did it wrong. 80÷7...

Re: 460 conversion to Mass Air

Another addition:
The hego seems to be most acccurate if the orange wire is grounded (ie: spliced) into the grey/red that is at pin 46, rather than to a chassis ground. The gy/r is a common wire to a few different sensors.

Re: 460 conversion to Mass Air

Also note, at least on way1 from alt0: A BP sensor is NOT used. In this case, BP is inferred through calculations. Two of the emission solenoids are pinned backwards and need to be swapped. The HEGO needs to have a ground supplied. (way1 pinout doesn't have) Pay careful attention to injector pinout....

Re: Pinging Way1 460 *heavy truck*

So I had a chance to check out the iming when it starts to rattle. The "saftot" is registering 15-16*. I'd assume that is added to the 10* base timing? New question... Would 25* total actually be too much advance for this combo??? If anyone has any datalogging from an ALT0, I'd be interest...

Sailorbob AHACB

All of the BP measurements are inhg except its transfer function which is psi. I checked the BP (was a MAP) sensor reading and compared it to actual weather measurements and the sensor is way off. How can I dial in a transfer function that has different units of measure? Also, there seems to be no d...

Re: Lean Stumble

Snap, my bad. They're 24s.

I disconnected the act sensor and installed an iat to the air box. That made a huge difference. Manifold volume is now at 4 and throttle response is crisp.

Re: mtx wbo2 serial fault

What driver would be needed other than the one for the serial adapter? It is my understanding that the BE software is supposed to have drivers for the innovate stuff. Innovate says that if the 5v analog side works, (which it does through egr) the serial side must too. The directions supplied (on pap...

Re: Pinging Way1 460 *heavy truck*

Posted in the "lean stumble" thread, I raised my manifold volume to the max allowed and the stumble is significantly better. So is the detonation and ping. Detonation is almost gone, I can now go over 70% load. It is dumping fuel like crazy now too, .72 at wot. Still has a light ping. What...

Re: 460 conversion to Mass Air

I can not speak for the vex1 or the others but my inital research for my 460 maf conversion came up with a year break difference between the way1 and hog0. There is a diode that was moved from the transmission to the ecu after 94. I am unsure of its purpose but for my 97, I opted for the way1 as it ...

Re: Lean Stumble

So I tried lowering the volume to two and the tip in became much worse. The original value left by the tuner was 17. I am now maxed out at 33.8 and it is better but not ideal. It would seem as if I may need to start from the beginning.

Re: Lean Stumble

mv= manifold volume. I'll try reducing it. Would the 5.0 truck engine, with those long runners, possibly have a larger volume than the efi 460?

Re: Lean Stumble

I'm using ahacb and can't find anthing for "accel" but I do recall the mv scaler. I'll try that. Any idea what the actual mv is for a stock 460 manifold vs the 5.0 the way1 came from?

Re: Lean Stumble

I have the same lean tip in issue with my maf converted 460. I looked for the aem scaler and don't see it anywhere. Could it be called something else? I'm using sailorbobs strategy.

Re: mtx wbo2 serial fault

"or you sure you have the correct driver for it loaded?" I'm unsure. The wb came with a install disc for lm3 and log works. BE is supposed to support the innovate stuff without it tho, no? Even the keyspan driver is odd. It auto loads its own but there is a manual load driver specific to t...

Re: mtx wbo2 serial fault

No termination plug supplied or mentioned. It won't log through log works or BE. I can make adjustments to the gauge through the lm3 screen and log the analog through the egr input tho. When I modify the settings through lm3, the gauge display goes crazy and has to have power cycled to get it to go ...

mtx wbo2 serial fault

Yup. She likes fuel. Bit of an off topic question, any ideas as to why the serial output of an innovate mtx won't work? Tried everything we could think of to log with it but only the analog side would work. I'd much prefer to have my egr intact while tuning but its tied up with the wb. There's also ...

Re: Pinging Way1 460 *heavy truck*

I will have to check timing as I wasn't personally working on the tune. Right now it has 87 with ethanol up to 10%. On the alt0 sd setup, it wouldn't do better than 7 mpg so I'm hesitant to run more expensive fuel. If I can get it dialed in on 87, I'd entertain maybe 89, if there was a chance of off...

Re: Pinging Way1 460 *heavy truck*

"what load and rpm is she pinging at? How much u got shot to her there?" Very rich (.76-.86) at 2000 rpm and pings at hwy speed, anything over 70% load. If I kick it out of od, load drops to 55% at 3500 rpm, no ping. I'd have to re check fuelling at that point but I'm pretty sure it was cl...

Pinging Way1 460 *heavy truck*

Rich and retarded. Pings at 70% load and can't get rid of it. Runs and shifts great at a .96 afr in town. Hwy is a different story. Pull back timing and pour fuel to it but it still pings!

The factory ecu was an ALT0, which is SD. As far as te strategy, I am unsure of the source. I have shelled out some cash for a tuner to do the work so I can't be sure which he is using.

Odd QH problems... WAY1

Hey guys, first timer here. I just recently completed a MAF conversion on my bbf. I received my QH and software almost the next day and all was good. The truck ran decent on the way1, at least for the first 10 min. Once the wideband was installed, I was able to see that at that 10 min mark, it went ...
