Re: ECU Tools security dongle
It gets activated from the response file they send you back. I think you had to send a couple files back and forth. It has been a while , I may be remembering this wrong.

Re: ECU Tools security dongle
It has been a while since I got mine but from memory, you download pcm flash and there was a registration or activation process in which you send in something like a device code and they send a response code back which activates the software. Sorry I am probably butchering the details. It has been a long time.
I have a dedicated laptop for tuning. I put a tiny dab of super glue on the dongle to make sure the dongle doesn't fall out while moving around and bumping into things. The software is registered to that dongle so if you loose it you will have to buy again.

Re: Katy, TX
Ha, no shit. I have jobs booked up all this week and won't have any free time to be able to meet up with you. Next time you are going to be in the Houston area, give me a heads up so I can make some time.
What are you doing in this neck of the woods?

SCT X3
Picked a SCT SF3 (X3) 3015 yesterday. I figured it would be married but I could use it to learn data logging with SCT livelink. Turns out it was unmarried so that is a plus.
I downloaded livelink2 from SCT and did some data logs to test with. Ordered a 1394 cable to make a pigtail for external inputs.
Does anyone have any helpful tips for using the the unit and data logging with it?
Maybe some firmware files?
