Re: Ford 7.3 super duty ecm tuning?

tuning a diesel isn't for the amateur much safer left to the pros

in all honesty though if its stock youd be hard pressed to beat the simple can tunes on the handhelds of your choosing

in any case I can whip out an xdf no prob youd have to become a premium member and the tuning would be left to you

Re: Long term fuel trims

thats it your right where your suppose to be

ideally u want to get it as close to perfect as you can

but note, its never wise to have the trims remove fuel only add. Thus you want positive corrections instead of negative ones

CDAN4 xdf was corrupt

I just noticed that the checksum calculation in the older cdan4 xdf was corrupting tunes by changing the wrong address.

Fixed and newer cdan4 xdf posted. Still no datalogging but I added a few more parameters to it.

Re: Creating an "inferred content" strategy, with logging ca

yep that was my thoughts exactly as well when i first thought about it. EEC-V already has the stoich value as a ram address too.

youll need at least a bit of ram for a bitmask to enable disable it or if u want a byte to save the ethanol content if u want to get more involved

Re: Erratic Fuel Pressure

why not use stock fuel rails and a stock replacement fuel pressure regulator?

i would suggest a kirban regulator over all others

no that little voltage fluctuation wont affect fuel pressure like that

doubtful the battery is bad

Re: Erratic Fuel Pressure

u have to remove the vac line to check the base fuel pressure, 40 cold should be about 53 base.

25 with vac on should be about 34 base.

sounds like a bad fuel pressure regulator

Re: 1994 f150 Speed Density 351w

a wideband is just for info in open loop conditions (startup and wot) the narrowband does all the real work. the wideband doesnt interface with the ecu its just for logging to know the actual lambda u can toss dual widebands on it if u like not rly necessary tho. Re: Read Chip and Copy To Quarterhorse

if the reads are blank your only option is to backdate the firmware and try if that doesnt work then u wont be able to read them, not all chips are readable directly

Re: Read Chip and Copy To Quarterhorse

sounds like it didnt read the chip, read all 3 positions and save each files, post them here and someone will take a look also, u may need to backdate your jaybird with an older firmware revision. There was an issue with the newer firmware not reading some types of chips not sure what ever came of it.

Re: 1997 Ford explorer XDT1?

no u dont create a bin you modify a stock bin tweecer should have that strategy and thats an option but your looking $500 or so for a tweecer rt which is outdated compared to the qh ive never ran a cop ecu in wasted spark, its worth a try though if your up to it, u will still need a qh tho the vss i...

Re: Getting Started...

surging idle is usually due to fuel not dialed in u have to look at both hegos as they are each bank if it goes to .75 lambda then the hego is reporting lean and the ecu is adding fuel to get it to switch, nothing u can adjust for u need to dial in your fuel or fix your hego issues yep need to dial ...

Re: dailing in fuel

no it looks like your o2 sensors are shut off. There is an o2 sensor enable/disable switch from the ecu that is used as a ground reference. It should be near the back of the cylinder head its usually an o-ring and is the hego ground wire. Make sure that wire is hooked up to either the head or a good...

I was referring to dialing in the isc transfer itself first you have to have your maf dialed in then, go set the isc multiplier to 0 and the isc offset to 0 then update, let it idle stable for 10 sec or so and note the airmass, then set the isc offset to 10 and update, let it idle 10 sec and note th...
