Re: All was well then not

Google search Ford self test. Under the hood by the brake booster there are some connectors to be jumped out and connected to a test light.

Re: 400hp 351w startup tune

careful with the shift points. I'm not sure if the trans can physically do it but you'd pop the engine if it shifted into the wrong gear at some outlandish speed. (scenario where road speed and the shift don't match such as 9000 engine rpm or etc. )

Re: 400hp 351w startup tune

the 3.55 gears combined with 33inch tires and hill climbing is the root cause. I'd consider something like 4.10 or steeper. Or put on shorter tires for the towing job. The brakes will be happier too with shorter tires.
what's in the 7000lbs trailer? Can you take anything out of it?

Re: Minimal posts

My guess is they are at the mercy of each individual dyno shop and whom ever works there and get their info from there as well.

Re: At what RPM does a single coil not have enough dwell time

Using 7000 rpm;
dizzy rpm is half that
3500 rpm x 8 = 28,000 spark events per min
/60 = 466 spark per sec
1/466 =.002
So 2 milliseconds for coil saturation. not so great, range is 2 to 5 typically from what I was researching which backs up Decipha, not that he needs it, LOL

Re: 400hp 351w startup tune

No not a "big" cam but bigger than stock. The 1.73 rockers amplify what it has going on. Stock cams are typically the smallest you will see. Stock are the best thing you can find for idle quality and off idle torque. A bigger than stock cam trades idle and off idle for higher rpm power. I assume driving around at 2500 rpm or above and you will have great power and torque.

edit; the rough idle and chop which sounds nice is the engine struggling to idle. The valve overlap and duration is poor for airflow velocity at that rpm which causes low vacuum and the cool sound. It's all about airflow velocity. A big wide open pipe flowing a small amount of air will have low velocity. also the opposite is true, smaller pipe more velocity.

Re: 400hp 351w startup tune

what rpm is in question? example; 1600 lugging in a high gear with tall tires is gonna be rough with a bigger cam. Stock cams are superior in this area.

Re: Clearing a Flooded Engine w/ the MAF Table?

TunerPro RT Setup for Moates QuarterHorse / Jaybird / SuperLogger (EEC-IV / EEC-V)
After you have downloaded and installed TunerPro RT open tunerpro and do the following:
up top in the tool bars go to tools >> preferences. The "general" table should be opened first
put a check in the box for the following:
Load last XDF at startup
Load last BIN at startup
<---File Associations--->
*.xdf
*.bin
*.adx
*.xdl
<---Table Editor Options--->
Reverse Rows <---

UNCHECK the following:
Enable Edit Logging
Item List Tracking

Now look to the right two tabs for "KEYBOARD"
scroll down to the Delete XDF Parameter command, select it and click the Clear Combination button

Now look to the far right for the data acq./emulation tab
(on left) data acquisition & logging >> interface type >> select "use plug-in" from drop down menu
click configure plug in >> port type >> shared with emulator

Save changes and now click on view up top and click "Floating Utility Tabs" only once.

Copied from the getting started page. You missed reverse rows. If we all follow this it's easier in the long run.

Re: Clearing a Flooded Engine w/ the MAF Table?

Years ago in upstate NY we were snowmobiling, it was -40F in the morning and the Jeep Cherokee would crank but not start. I was amazed how strong the battery was hanging in there. after about 20 seconds I realized it must have enough fuel by now so i went to clear flood mode by holding the pedal to the floor and she slowly burped to life! Good old horse! Clear flood does have its use once in a while. BTW -40 feels like you must be in outer space no need to be out snowmobiling in that.
