Dual fuel pumps quandary

I'm planning on running two 340lph HP pumps for my next build. Fuel system would consist of 8an throughout with a 6an return. Would it be best to run 1 pump continuously and the other on a Hobbs switch to come on with boost? Or would it be better to run them in parallel? Durability doesn't seem to b...

Re: Speedometer options.. digital dash from QH a solution?

Thanks Mike. I just figured that out today, however it won't fly since there is no way to run the odometer. So it looks like I'm stuck with one of the previous options. After looking at all my options I will probably run Dakota Digitals converter box for $280 ( cheapest option available) but also se...

Speedometer options.. digital dash from QH a solution?

On my current build I am using a T56 out of 03/04 Cobra , which lacks a mechanical hook up for a cable driven speedometer. I have done quite a bit of digging but I'm not really happy with my options and wanted to get some feedback/ suggestions/ input from you fine folks. Options I have found thus fa...

Re: How big of an injector can the ECU support?

Lol, I have no idea. You know there is all kinds of internet myths out there.

I was looking to move up to a 120 high impedance injector, any particular injector I should look for/ stay away from?

How big of an injector can the ECU support?

I'm currently using 60's and will be stepping up my combo a good bit and remember reading somewhere that 83's are the biggest the ecu can support. Is that correct or can the ecu handle a larger injector?

Thanks

Throttle is not smooth and progressive.

I'm running Deciphas A9L2 modified for use with the car in my signature. The car runs awesome full throttle and part throttle is getting there but throttle response is like a switch. As soon as you hit the pedal in gear it's almost like the car is accelerating to hard in comparison to the throttle a...

Re: Crank no start when hot..

After a long time.. I got this figured out. It was nothing mechanical, electrical, or even heat soak related.

I changed the upper portion of the scalar ect vs temp. Now she starts every single time.

Need help with FN035

Trying to help out a friend with his tune, and I'm kind of mystified with his load result from his NA pull. It's a 349 with the typical heads intake cam... but his load is only reaching mid to high 40%. That's wrapping the engine from near idle to 6500 rpm (redline) Could this be right or is somethi...

Tuning for faster spool response?

I recently finished my exhaust for the car, and is 4" from the turbo all the way back. I've noticed that there has been a huge increase ( to me ) in spool response. The car has 2 psi by 2700 rpm, and used to hit 10psi by 3000 rpm. Now after the exhaust I'm not hitting full boost until 3500 - 45...

Re: Disastrous first drive - HELP!!!

The best way to let it get to temp, is to just let it idle until it gets hot.

That's what I did anyhow.. I was playing with the tune for a week before I even attempted to move the car lol. To be honest I was scared to blow it up and totally un confident in my tuning abilities.

Problem when logging

Not sure if this is the proper place to post this or not.. but I just got back my QH from Moates after finding out that the on board battery was dead corrupting my tunes. Re: Won't run / Runs very poorly without laptop connected.

I cleared the RAM on the QH, and loaded the new tune. So far so good. If the tune is screwed or gone again when I leave work I'll know the QH battery is dead. The last couple times I looked at the tunes in the hardware tab and it was just a bunch of gibberish and random characters.

Re: Won't run / Runs very poorly without laptop connected.

I re- read them, and I am doing it correctly.

I wrote a new tune to try this morning thinking something may have corrupted the tune and or file.

I will report back with its behavior.

Thanks

Won't run / Runs very poorly without laptop connected.

Tried to start up the car this morning, and it would crank and run for 5 seconds and die. Tried eliminating a couple things, grabbed the laptop to datalog it to see if I could see what was wrong. Re: Timing/ Load / RPM boost..

My fuel is dialed in that's not the issue.. and I know the A9L2 is already set up for boost. If you look at the table, at those given load tables the taget AFR is 13.54, It's a bit lean for boost I would think. I know there isn't much boost at those loads or for much time, but I'd rather be safe the...

Re: Timing/ Load / RPM boost..

Thanks Decipha! Since Boost and load are kind of synonymous within the context of what we are discussing, Should I have the timing fully retarded to 16 deg, as per your example, by the time i'm at full boost? Or is this more RPM dependent? Another question I just thought of... since I am getting int...

Timing/ Load / RPM boost..

I'm running the A9l2 calibration, and originally I was running 7psi, with timing above 3000 gradually retarded. The turbo was spooled and had full bost by that rpm, but I didn't have any boost before that rpm. I installed a gated boost controller and now I have 2psi by 2400 ramping up to full boost ...

Re: Fuel / Ignition issue with ERF on.

it sounds more like an ignition issue, do u have an ignition box? If so you need to seperate its power source, feed the ignition box with a true ground and power source at the battery Yes I have a crane HI-6 box, the power is direct to the battery as is the ground. would be a good idea to run a hea...
