Re: What is Everyone using for Chips Now?

You can write 56k to the TI chip no problem.

My experience is car won't run, fuel pump is constantly on.

256k there's no issue because bank 8 is the start.

2 and 4 bank 256k are simple.

I ordered all 4 PCM Flash modules myself. Basing my ordering process off the Getting Started writeup and ECUtools information.

I searched the ECUtools site for updates and news, cross-referenced info from here and other US sites to make my decision.

The rally of information based on ECU PN/Strategies/Makes swayed my decision to just spend the $493.50 USD vs trying to fart around with Derive/SCT PRP or other Boxed Unit types and spending $2500+.

Granted: I've been told in the past by several people that things I come up with "won't work" but prove them wrong every time.

My $.02 is just order the modules be ahead. They do work and will get you that much further ahead of the curve. Might need extra, might not.

Now, once I receive them, if you haven't found a solution it's quite possible I will.

I have 96, 2013 and 2019 Ford vehicles in my garage. 4v to 3.5L EB that they are getting used on first. Also a 10 3v 5.4L my dad wants tuned without dealing with the x4 again.

Hope this helps. I should receive these in 2 weeks as they've left Russian Federation as of 10-5.
Did you happen to receive your PCMFlash stuff yet? If so, have you used it successfully? Did you find that you needed any more modules than those in the getting started writeup? Thanks
yup, and... yup. TCM module.

identifies 2 banks, wont read. 4 banks, hit or miss. probably xtal speed thing. later 4 banks it reads...

no issues on black oak, spanish oak and 11-up stuff at all. just get the TCM module.

SCT works ok with the jaybird? Any different settings? I asked this somewhere else on the forum too
yes works just like a f3v2. no different addressing required.

dleach1407 wrote: 2023 Apr 19, 21:52 How does one convert a 56k bin to 256k?
57344 (56k) byte starting at 22000, which is bank 8 in a 256k. That is where the tuning will need to reside. Bin Size in HEX 40000..

I think I priced the J3 TI chip for $65 usd, last weeks dollar conversation, I’m thinking about buying a batch
Good device. Just some ECU's have slight capacitor interference but it's easy to manipulate around.

Reminder.. all 56k MUST be a 256k Binary

034V, where can you get that burner?
The Burn2/FE/FA was a Moates setup. I've seen some copies of it, but not sure if you can find the adapter for the J3 anymore.

The TI Performance chips, I always order their burner with them. Like $230 for both shipped from the Aussie world.

Their burner works with TunerPro RT and has a unique bank assignment feature, but will not program anything but the TI Performance chip due to the ribbon cable. In other words, it wont burn via the card edge connector.
